Art, etc.

Hi there. I realize that I already have one post dedicated to art...but this will be another. Ummm...yeah. As I mentioned earlier, HJ and I went to three different art exhibits. However, I have only posted photos from the Louvre show. Here, today, are the photos taken during the Magritte exhibit as well as the show titled "From Van Gogh to Picasso." Also, interspersed are photos taken at different cafes/restaurants in Apgujung. I'll fill you in as we go...just scroll down and the journey begins!

These two photos are actually from a coffee shop in Dogok-dong, a regular hangout for HJ and I on the weekend. (It's right near her house..for your information)

These next two are kinda neat..I figure. HJ snapped them during a cool lunch in Apgujung. It was a small diner, cafe kinda thing, but it had a real NY vibe going on..

As I'm sure you noticed, the above photos are all from the Magritte show. Actually, the musuem is situated in a real special place. It's kinda hidden behind a large palace/royal garden thing...so there's quite a feeling of tranquility. Now, this is so cool because this musuem is right in the heart of downtown...you don't have to wander far to encounter the business of city life. Anyway, cool location and cool show too..

I especially like the last photo as it almost looks as though the pipe is hovering over Hyejung's head...kind of a cool effect!!

This was at another small cafe in Apgujung, actually for brunch! We met up with HJ's coworker, Hyein, before heading out to the Van Gogh/Picasso exhibit. I'm not sure if the pictures do the food justice. Simply fantastic! Fried toast..garlic butter..mmmm..

Don't let the photo fool you..I did enjoy my time there..I had just come from a soccer game. There wasn't much energy left in the tanks!

We actually have Hyein to thank, as it was her choice to eat there. Hyein has really been our eating guide for HJ and I...all of her recommendations have been wonderful. The name of the restaurant was Cafe Grande, and it's located on this wicked street in Apgujung, called Garusu. I first went there with HJ and a friend a few months ago, and ever since I've loved going back. It really feels to have a European/Western vibe. Tons of super interesting restaurants, cafes, bars, art and furniture shops.

Not too many photos from the last show, eh? Well, I guess it wasn't quite as spectacular. Nah, it was good..don't get me wrong.. It took place at a exhibition hall quite near to HJ's 'hood..which was great for us. Seems to be an impressive place as well..always different shows going: plays, musicals, concerts, etc. I would love to go back there to check something like that out..

Okay peoples. I'm out.

Have a good one.

-Paul
