Art! Art! Art!
Hello there! Time for an update! I try to stick to some sort of theme in my posts, as opposed to random ramblings, and so today's theme will be art...
Over the past few weeks, HJ and I have been to 3 (yes, that's right) - 3 different art exhibits. It's been great fun too, I feel as though I have been educated in the ways of artiness. Or at least in a very small way...
The first exhibit was titled "Louvre" and contained a selection of works from, where else, but the Louvre. I was impressed, pretty cool stuff...as long as you take the time I guess..
The second show we attended was all about Rene Magritte. Before attending this exhibit, I think I was familiar with some of his more famous paintings, but truthfully, I was pretty naive. Anyway, from what I gather, Magritte is a Belgian surrealist painter. That means a lot of his works are slightly obsecure, taking a fair bit of interpretation. Yet, many of his paintings are quite clever, and even funny as well..why don't you see so yourself!

Of the three shows we attended, I think my favourite was the Magritte one. I think the cool thing about his art is that it seems quite modern, almost representative of today's pop culture, etc. Or maybe it's just trippy...haha..
Our third exhibit was titled "From Van Gogh to Picasso." This was a real cool collection of stuff too, all of it being from Cleveland, Ohio. Although, I have to say, a little disappointing because it didn't have a whole lot from Picasso or Van Gogh especially. Again, this was an educational experience, as I got to listen to the audio tour! So, I learned about the early Impressionists like Monet and Renoir...to Picasso's Cubism. That's about all I can remember! Don't ask me any questions...
Well, I'll leave you with some photos we took after the Louvre show. This exhibit was actually at Seoul's National Musuem, a newish building. This place is incredible. The sheer size is daunting..very beautiful.

Alright, that's it folks! Remember to visit your local art exhibit today!
Cheers,
-Paul
