Two Weeks in Canada: Spanish Banks

Hi everyone. Hope you enjoyed last week's entry. Pretty long, eh? I've decided to keep this week shorter. Is it because I'm really concerned with your reading ease or am I just being lazy? I'm not sure..but regardless..this makes my job easier!

So, today then, will contain photos only from one day. All the following were actually taken before the Virgin music festival at one of the best beaches around: Spanish Banks. As I'm sure you know, Spanish Banks are located right by UBC. Hence, taken during the Virgin festival.

Again, Spanish Banks are simply fantastic and HJ and I would often make the trek down there when she was at UBC. So I think it's safe to say there was a fair amount of nostalgia going around. Anyway, we had fun chillin'. Enjoy the selection.

So, I thought I'd give you quick update on life in Seoul as well. I've been back now for almost two weeks, which is amazing in a way, and maybe not quite amazing as well. What do I mean? Well, I guess it's always hard to adjust to jet lag. For me though, returning to Seoul was much harder physically, for whatever reason. But I think the other issue is just returning to normalcy.

After two weeks of holiday, going back to work, where Monday means something, was a little shock. Nothing traumatizing..just strange. Maybe that's not even it. I guess it was just so great to see everyone back home..so maybe what I've been feeling is just good old-fashioned home-sickness. I'll admit it.. But again, I think the scary thing was how quickly I returned to my old lifestyle. Like I was never gone. I dunno...I think I'm just spouting off now!

I don't want you to get the wrong impression though. I AM glad to be back. I'm glad to see my kids again. Glad to see the old native teachers. It was even good to see my apartment again! It really did feel more homey than I ever imagined it would!

But that's not all - I've been able to connect to people! Real people! From T-Dub no less..
Lydia and Bruce are now both teaching in Bundang..and I've seen them once. And of course, Liz Kim is now in Korea for a visit, which has been fab-u-lous. Fo' real. So, yeah, I'm still having fun. In fact, this week has felt much better. Physically for sure. I'm getting into the swing of things, adjusting to a new schedule and all.

Alright then, keep it real out there, will ya?

Peace.

-Paul
