Update.
Word up.
Hope everyone is staying cool in Canada, or wherever you might be. I am more-or-less staying cool here, as the temperature has dropped a bit recently. Right now, I'm feeling pretty good. Friday was the last day of morning intensives, which means no more waking up at 7:00 in the morning! I guess I really got used to the whole afternoon teaching thing. I mean, starting your day at 2:30 in the afternoon? How great is is that?
So, for two more weeks I'll be covering for another Native teacher who's on holiday. The beautiful thing is that I'm teaching in Bundang which means I literally have a 3-minute walk to school. Simply the best. It sure beats the 1.5 hour commute before! I like Bundang for sure. I'm teaching a lot of level 5 students, which are usually in grade 5. These age of students are my favourite as we can joke around and have a lot of fun - either laughing at each other or laughing at me!
Okay, so I've kinda got a backlog of pictures to put up here. So, let's see what I can do. These first pictures are still from my week vacation when HJ and I spent a day in Insadong, which is a touristy place right in downtown Seoul. Super awesome place though - tons of things to see. It's more of a traditional area - as you can see with the streets and the stores. There's actually a lot of cool things to buy, both tacky and legit.

We also visited the INSA Art Center in Insadong and checked out their exhibit titled "Happy Birthday!" This was a lot more fun than I think either HJ or I expected. Lots of interesting artwork...birthday style!

These were actually four clocks, done to various fruits and vegetables!

This was a really cool piece that was probably one of our favourites. So colourful! So interactive!
Another major excursion was to a local outdoor pool. I might have mentioned this pool before. It's actually very close to HJ's house. Anyway, it was totally refreshing to be able to swim after all the heat we had here. Of course, this pool was crowded out Korean style, but I don't think that stopped any of us from having fun. I went swimming with HJ and two other friends from her church, Sangeun and Limnoh. Good times - mos def. Although I did walk away looking a little like a boiled lobster..kk

Hanging wit the homies..
(Do you like that coincidental shot of male spandex action!?)
Am I fly or what? Not my shades..don't worry.
Alright people,
Signing off for now...
-Paul
